This scheme is designed to attract new business to the borough or to expand an existing business, to reduce empty properties and encourage employment for our residents.

We do not want to be too prescriptive and not allow businesses to show their entrepreneurial and innovation skills to encourage diversity on Redbridge High Streets, under this scheme we will not be able to support businesses such as those below

Vehicle/Motor trade
Any non-retail premises
Medical services (e.g. vets, dentists, doctors, osteopaths, chiropractors) unless identified as a community need
Professional services (e.g. solicitors, accountants, insurance agents/ financial advisers, employment agencies, estate agents, letting agents)
Any which not open to visiting members of the public
Duplication of same business type within half a mile of premises
Complete an agreement of terms on trading practices – commit to not breaching business rates, licensing and trade waste obligations
Businesses with a turnover exceeding £2m
National chains.
Educational or religious premises
Financial services (e.g. banks, building societies, cash points, bureau de change, short-term loan providers, betting shops, gambling or gaming
